Alaska Expertise
Since the early 1970s, NHC has been deeply involved in numerous projects across Alaska, showcasing our evolving expertise and capacity in both Alaska and northern Canada. Our journey has been marked by significant milestones, including pivotal projects like the Pacific Coastal Mapping Study for FEMA, where we pioneered new flood hazard mapping along over 50 miles of coastline in Juneau, Alaska, enhancing preparedness and resilience in the face of natural disasters.
Additionally, our commitment to the region is evident in endeavors such as the Bullen Point Road Design on the North Slope, where we meticulously documented the ice breakup characteristics of four major rivers and seven tributaries, facilitating crucial aspects like bridge hydraulic design and the development of flood and erosion protection strategies.
Throughout these projects and beyond, NHC remains steadfast in our commitment to fostering resilience, sustainability, and prosperity across Alaska and northern Canada.
