Steve has over 25 years of experience working mainly in the fields of river hydraulics and coastal engineering. He has worked on a wide variety of projects, including wave studies, erosion and marine submersion, sediment transport, characterization of the maritime environment, assessment of environmental impacts, and adaptation to climate change. Steve also coordinates the acquisition of oceanographic data, the performance of modeling work (2D-3D hydrodynamics, studies of ocean circulation, water quality, sediment transport, coastal evolution), and reporting. He has also worked on such projects as fishing harbour and marina rehabilitations, coastline stabilization (riprap, groynes, breakwaters, beach nourishment), navigation channel maintenance, dredging and management of contaminated sediments, and creation of aquatic habitats.
