Alan Clark, MSc, MICE
Principal, Irrigation Engineer
International
International Water Resource Management, Water Supply Infrastructure
My expertise embraces engineering works and management systems for water and energy efficiency gains in irrigation. Engineering works often include a mix of canal lining and balancing storage, buried pipe distribution, volumetric metering, conjunctive use of ground and surface water, electrification, SCADA, decision support, and information systems. Management systems address institutional aspects, farmers participation, and applying private sector expertise. I’ve recently conducted an irrigation modernization study in Central Asia for FAO-World Bank, participated in the ADB-funded Ara Canal Water Productivity Improvement Project in Bihar State, India, and advised on irrigation modernization in Vietnam under an ADB-supported water efficiency improvement project. In my spare time, I enjoy family fun, gardening, tennis, and music.
