I am a Principal engineer with broad experience in hydraulic modelling and design of flood hazard reduction and habitat restoration projects. My experience includes 16 years with Snohomish County, Washington, where I managed projects, led design teams, and conducted hydraulic analysis, public outreach, and emergency flood response tasks. This experience helps me understand clients’ issues on many types of projects. I use a variety of one- and two-dimensional hydraulic models to analyze complex habitat restoration and flood control projects. I’ve designed and led numerous levee, habitat restoration, and stream bank protection projects in estuaries and rivers throughout the Pacific Northwest, and have performed floodplain mapping, geomorphic analysis, and construction supervision. Recently, I managed alternatives development, benefit-cost analysis, design, and construction management of the Southern Flow Corridor Project in Tillamook, Oregon, which restored 500 acres of tidal habitat and reduced flooding over 3,000 acres. Off work, I enjoy backpacking, alpine climbing, cooking (but not cleaning), and travel.
