Soheil has 15 years of experience as a hydrotechnical engineer with expertise in hydraulics, hydraulic structures, and river engineering. Most of his work has focused on river and lake ice engineering, fluvial hydraulics and engineering, sediment transport, hydraulic structures, and hydrology. His experience includes the analysis and numerical simulation of river ice, river hydraulics and sediment transport under different hydraulic regimes (ice-covered/ open water) and varying climates; Computational Fluid Dynamic simulations of riverine and coastal processes; combined river hydrodynamic and morphodynamic simulations; mixing and turbulence analyses; design and simulation of river hydraulic structures; river conservation plans; and sediment management.
