The focus of my career as a surface water hydrologist has been on the analysis and synthesis of hydrologic data, and the development and application of hydrologic models for such uses as estimation of design floods, flood forecasting, seasonal snowmelt forecasting, and the design of urban stormwater management facilities. I’ve worked throughout western North America and in South America and South Asia. Projects have ranged from estimation of spillway design floods for dam safety evaluations in western Canada and the western US, to analysis of low flows for navigation studies in Brazil, to flood management studies in India and Bangladesh. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, attempting to make furniture in the Arts and Crafts style, and annual forays into the High Sierras.
