Kirsten has extensive experience in the field of water resource engineering. Her professional background involves the application of physical hydraulic models for the analysis of hydraulic structures; hydraulic design; dam safety; and project management. Since joining NHC in 2007, Kirsten has been involved in a wide variety of assignments ranging from small run-of-river intake facilities to major hydroelectric developments; spillways; wastewater, water supply and stormwater pump stations; discharge siphons; drop structures; stormwater conveyance systems; sediment management; fish-passage related aspects in the design of hydroelectric developments; and dam breach and consequence classification analyses.
