Growing up in the desert fostered a wonder for moving water, whether it was carefully creating ditch systems for a family garden or watching rare cloudbursts fill the adjacent street. Engineering education and experience has steered me towards river systems and structures where I can quench my thirst for hydraulics. Developing solutions to riverine issues and following through to construction is very satisfying. I have developed supplemental physical and numerical modelling skills, including completing more than fourteen physical model studies and using a range of hydraulic modelling software. NHC provides an exciting atmosphere tackling difficult problems with tutelage from extremely talented and knowledgeable coworkers. Though working from a home office in Utah, most of my work is in California and Washington. I volunteer in several positions for my church and as our city’s planning commission chairman. I enjoy spending time with my wife Accalia and our five children, along with birding, hiking, music, yard work, and basketball.
