Intermediate Laboratory Technician

About Us
Northwest Hydraulic Consultants (NHC) is seeking an intermediate level laboratory technician to perform general construction duties in an indoor environment at our new Kent, WA location. NHC is an international firm of civil engineers and geoscientists providing professional services for the development, management, and protection of water resources, which includes building large scale models of dams, spillways, and other river-related structures in our hydraulic laboratory. In this role, you will support a team of scientists and engineers dedicated to resolving complex water issues.
About the Role
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with the ability to perform general construction and clean-up duties in our physical modeling lab. The position requires someone who is safety-minded, able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs, and open to learning new skills. Framing and construction experience is required.

- Carpentry/Framing
- Concrete repair and forming
- Industrial plumbing (6”->12” pvc)
- Plastics fabrication
- Waterproofing
- Metal fabrication
- 3D printing
- CNC Operation (Computer Numerical Control)
- Manual machining of wood, metal and plastics
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Troubleshooting pump systems
- Ability to work independently or as the project leader of group to accomplish above tasks.

Salary Range: $25.00 – $45.00 hourly depending on experience
