Required education, skills, and experience
- Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field; direct experience may be substituted for education.
- At least 3-7 years of proposal and internal/external marketing experience with an engineering, environmental, architectural, or construction services firm.
- Strong writing, editing, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
What does the job entail?
Candidates for this role can expect to lead the planning, development, and production of winning proposals from start to finish; and contribute to internal and external marketing activities and initiatives, as well as provide insight into our social media, business development, and marketing strategies. Main responsibilities include:
- Sourcing opportunities from relevant client or bid websites.
- Initiating and executing our 8-step proposal process including bid monitoring and proposal coordination/planning for RFPs, RFQs, SOQs, and SF330s.
- Maintaining up-to-date opportunity records in our CRM.
- Completing layout and production of proposals, ensuring submission is compliant and meets requirements.
- Developing and implementing sound key messages and win themes.
- Proofreading and editing content; assisting with writing and evaluating narratives for relevance.
- Creating and maintaining proposal materials such as resumes, project descriptions, and project photography.
- Proactively seeking involvement in our debrief process and sharing results and lessons learned.
- Proactively following up with clients and/or technical staff on results of bids.
- Identifying interview requirements and partnering with technical staff to prepare materials as well as conducting rehearsals.
- Providing additional strategic research and creating annual plans for our key account management program.
- Assisting with executing marketing tactics to support NHC’s strategic roadmap.
- Creating and enhancing brand awareness through development of marketing materials (collateral, brochures, award submissions, videos, etc).
- Developing intranet and website content for Alberta and ensuring content is current and properly organized.
- Proactively assisting in the development of a social media strategy to support company objectives.
- Proactively planning and executing business development related Alberta events.
- Supporting NHC’s involvement in conferences by creating required marketing materials.
